Slipshod Theatre was founded in Winchester, Hampshire at the very beginning of 2017 by three alumni of Peter Symonds College’s drama course. The three (Mace, Dorey & Nkomo-Pswarayi) had collaborated on a large scale original end of year production entitled The Babushka (2016) which detailed the life of Russian migrants under Stalin’s purges.

The ambition of Slipshod was to create more historical and political theatre with a very simple ethos – making history fun all over again. We strive to create complete world and atmosphere in our pieces that would mix modern elements of popular culture and politics with old pieces of the past that might be unknown or forgotten.

We’ve since brought shows to the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, Camden Fringe, Brighton Fringe and to numerous small scale venues around the country. Our small scale theatre has transformed over the years and continues to develop from experimental, audience participation to including our original style in brand new historical musicals. You can read more about our individual shows, reviews and what we’re up to in the future in our Shows page.

We regularly collaborate with The Nutshell in Winchester and perform annually at TheSpaceUK at EdFringe. Be sure to keep up to date with them for extra details and tickets for our upcoming performances.
